This article introduces our new experience, which we’re gradually rolling out. Still on the old experience? Find more info here.

Record Union is a music distribution platform that enables independent artists and labels to easily distribute music to the world's major music streaming services. With Record Union, you always retain 100% ownership and control of your music.

We are a Spotify Platinum Partner and we have preferred partnerships with most of the major stores, including Apple Music. You can read more about our music partners here.

How do I take my music global?

Start by selecting your product plan and creating a free account with us. From there, you can set up your workspace, profile and explore the whole platform without spending a thing. No payment is required until you're ready to submit your first release. You can learn more about our product plans and how they differ on our pricing page.

You create a release by uploading your audio and artwork, adding track details (metadata), selecting the music stores you want to distribute to, and choosing your release date. You can also add optional add-ons to give your release an extra boost.

Once you submit your release, our review team checks that it meets the music stores’ requirements. If everything looks good, we’ll deliver it to your selected stores, where it will be available on your chosen release date.

What happens after the release date?

As soon as your music goes live, Record Union will start collecting data on streams, downloads, video creations, views, and more. Music stores typically send us this data with a three-month delay. Once we receive the data, it will be available in your Record Union account. You’ll be able to see how your tracks and releases are performing, analyze the data by plays, regions, music services, and more, and download it in a variety of formats.

The royalties your music earns from music stores will be shown on your Balance page. You can pay out your earnings directly to your bank account. If you work with collaborators, you can set up royalty splits and recoups so they can get paid automatically, without you having to divide the payments manually.

Can I switch from another distributor to Record Union?

Of course you can! To make the transition as smooth as possible, we recommend that you start by uploading the release with us, and then remove it from the other distributor. Sending our support team a screenshot of your take-down request will speed up the review process.

You will also be able to use your old ISRC and UPC codes when re-uploading the release on Record Union, ensuring that the public play statistics on Spotify stay intact. Just add the codes in the different code sections when creating the release, and you are good to go!
